Tonight I spent 30 minutes convincing myself to go to the gym and go to this workout class that I started taking last week. I felt tired and worn out, and I didn’t really want to go. But, I finally told myself that I made a commitment to myself to go every day if possible, so I went in.
Class was awesome, and I am really sore, but something happened that I never expected. I was energized after the class and pumped up for my entire drive home. I got home and got all of my work done, and I can’t believe how good I feel.
So, here is my take away. When I exercise, I am looking for a positive, and community building experience. The reason I like this class so much is that the instructor is awesome and the people in the class are all different levels, so I don’t feel intimidated or behind. I love that I feel like I fit in. And really, that is all I was looking for. A place to fit in and get more healthy.
So, if you happen to be in Westminster, CO and get a chance, I highly recommend the Flex and Stretch class at the rec center. And if you happen to make a commitment to yourself, try to keep it. You will feel better. But remember, don’t beat yourself up if you don’t make it. Forgive yourself, and get back on track. When you are making progress, a little blip won’t hurt you but giving up does.
I am just telling myself that I have only one body just we have only one planet to live on. I need to take care of both, or I am screwed.
